The triangle is genuinely recurrent
Official UAP reporting datasets include triangle or delta morphology alongside spheres, lights, discs and other shapes. The category is real as a reporting pattern even though it is a minority of reports with recorded morphology.
Why one label can hide many causes
Three lights can imply a triangle even when the lights are separate. Aircraft formation, perspective, clouds, stars, satellites, balloons, drones and classified aircraft can all generate triangular impressions under some conditions.
Historical reports still matter
European and US archives contain long-running descriptions of triangular or boomerang-like objects. Those records are useful for pattern analysis, but witness convergence is weaker than instrument convergence because memory, expectation and viewing geometry can converge too.
What survives resolution
A strong triangle case would need calibrated range, timing, geometry and independent sensors that establish the object’s dimensions and motion. The public triangle corpus does not currently provide continuous independently verifiable data at SCRIBE R5.

Direct answer: Black-triangle reports form a recognisable witness category, but public evidence does not show that they all describe the same physical object or an extraordinary vehicle.
Recurring morphology, unresolved ontology. The correct unit of analysis is the individual case and its sensor record—not the silhouette alone.
